Dear Colleagues,
This is to bring you up to date with our planning for the Stirling Conference,Sacred Space, on 20-22 October this year. Complete conference information, including booking facilities for registration, accommodation details, and bursary applications for postgraduate and unwaged members, will be available online later this month. We will circulate an email apprising you of this at the appropriate time, but please watch this site for updates.
We anticipate an exciting meeting with certain new dimensions. As well as inviting a distinguished group of keynote speakers (Tom Altizer, Nina Danino, Philip Sheldrake, Richard Holloway), we have commissioned a major new composition by the modern jazz trio Acoustic Triangle, which will receive its first performance in the Chapel Royal of Stirling Castle. The conference banquet will also be held at the Castle in the Great Hall on Saturday evening. Present also will be the jazz trombonist and composer John Rapson. An exhibition of the work of German artist Roland Biermann will take place at the University, and we will have opportunities to discuss these works during the conference.
The conferences have this year reached their quarter century! Already there has been considerable world-wide interest in the conference, and I would encourage you to contact the convenor of the panel session closest to your own interests without delay if you are thinking of attending.
If you know of any conferences or events that would be of interest to our members, please email us so that we can include them on our website. Indeed, any news of books, publications or projects would be welcome.
